Frequently Asked QuestionS

Here are some tips from a professional studio photographer:

  • Try to have a basic idea of the aestethic / style you are going for that will help you in the selection process
  • Look at potential photographers’ websites and social media (galleries, portfolios). Do they look like a possible match?
  • Identify their specialization: if you need photos for a specific event (e.g., weddings, portraits, maternity), look for photographers with relevant experience.
  • Evaluate their general experience: consider the photographer’s years in the industry and their portfolio’s quality.
  • Read clients’ reviews to see what kind of experience you can expect
  • Schedule a consultation to discuss your needs, and ask questions. This is your time to interview them.
  • Trust your gut. Choose a photographer whose work and personality resonate with you.

We always want you to feel and look your best on the day of your photo session. That involves some planning ahead of time, and preparation. However, we take the heavy lifting off your shoulders by providing a detailed session prep guide (including wardrope), as well as an extensive list of tips and tricks, and even the suggested timeline for things like nail appointments, etc. to make sure you don’t miss a thing. After all, we want to maximize the outcome of your photo session while keeping your ‘homework’ to the minimum.

Catch your breath. We got you covered! We provide you with a detailed preparation guide that includes wardrobe suggestions based on the specifics of your photosession (is it branding, portraits, maternity, etc?).

First thing first, – there is no reason to panic. Given that you have enough prep time ahead of your session day, any and all of the following may be considered:

  • Take yourself out on a shopping spree and get one or a few of the suggested clothing options. Try them on before you buy to make sure you like the fit and the colors. TJMaxx, Target, H&M, Zara, GAP are some of the good places to visit.
  • Check out websites that offer rental options, such as Rent the Runway.
  • Consider ordering a few things on Amazon. With their fast delivery, friendly prices, and almost unlimited return options you would not be stuck with any of the choices that don’t meet your expectations.
  • Ask to ‘shop’ friend’s or family member’s closet and borrow a few items (possibly one of the easiest solutions).
  • Reach out to us and ask if me may have something in our studio clients’ closet that can work for you.
  • In case of a very limited prep time, bring what you already have, and we will work with it to esnure the best results.

Let us say it loud and clear: contrary to the popular opinion, you don’t have to practice anything. Unless you are an Oscar- winning actor, chances are: more practice won’t help you produce natural-looking results. But the opposite is quite possible. With more practice can come frustration, nervousness, facial stiffness, – everything you don’t want to see in your images. The only thing you are expected to do is show up, and we will take care of the rest. You can rely on our expertise in helping you relax in front of the camera, and feel and look natural. We live and breath emotions, facial expressions, best angles, and capturing images that showcase your best qualities. Isn’t it why you chose to work with us in the first place?

Most of our sessions include hair and makeup styling done for you. Make sure you ask us about it. And if it isn’t included, you can opt for adding this service on. It will be performed by one of the studio team stylists whom we love and trust.
